Amy is a founding member of The Kind Lawyers, and was named a Family Law Peacemaker of the Year at the Inaugural Peacemaker Awards in 2021 and again a finalist for 2022. Earlier this year Amy received recognition as a finalist in an ACT Chief Minister’s GOLD Award for her years of service to families and children in the community and surrounding region.
Amy McGinn is a qualified specialist, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and registered mediator who has been working with children and families in the separation space for the past 30 years. Creating repair without blame in separation is the key to her successful mediation style. Amy holds qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mediation, Child Consultant, Business and Counselling to name a few of her qualifications, and most recently one of Canberra’s first Parenting Coordinators.
Prior to Amy opening her own business three years ago she was the Director of Relationships Australia for 15 years and successfully opened the first 15 Family Relationships Centre headed up by Attorney Generals Dept. in line with the changes to the Family Law Act which took place in 2006.
You will often hear Amy saying, “it’s such a privilege to work with families and children”, these are not just words – Amy holds true to her care and respect, always striving to create repair and change.
